Well the flowers don't seem to open flat and are only about 20mm across, would probably be 30mm if flat ,still impressive for a small plant and an interesting structure inside

Hold them close and hold them dear, in these final few, dwindling days of summer.

Gorgeous flowers Corky, thanks for sharing!
Have you been hand pollinating any of these?
Have any of the past flowers produced seed yet?

I think threatening with a 12 bore helps

Think the twelve bore might help ,maybe bright light and cold temps ,light is only on a 10 hour on 14 off cycle

Hi Corky, After looking into this subject a bit more, ive discovered that D. hamiltonii flowers are incompatible for selfing - two distinct clones are needed to produce viable seed. www.carnivorousplants.org/cp/evolution/selfincompatibility D. slackii and cuneifolia on the other hand, both have self-compatible flowers, so it is worth the effort to hand-pollinate these species' blooms. Cheers, Doug dvg

A mass of blooms on the way for these this year ,seven plants in the same pot have sent up flower stalks ,pot that's blooming is under lights and the one on the windowsill shows no sign of flowers a closer look should look good in a couple of weeks if they don't fry on the bulbs
