A rather odd shot head on of a Heron. A couple of more orthodox poses A Pied Wagtail chick doing its "Feed me - feed me now" routine. No water in the above so here's enough to make up for it. A patrol on the Teviot

Another trip north. The Heron is still in residence. I wonder if the scenery just above the cauld influences the Heron staying. Taken from the south bank of the River Teviot, Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick

A bit upstream from the birds. I'm currently using this shot for my computer background.

That looks like a nice fly fishing stream, Fred - brown trout?
And those overhanging yellow flowers - not familiar with those, they're lovely, but what are they?

An update on Cyril (The Heron) at Hawick. This time he was being a little distant so not the close up views we normally get. He was also spending the mid afternoons perched in a large fir tree (I believe a Douglas Fir) just 100 metres or so up stream from the cauld. Oh and Doug, you called the Teviot a Fly fishing stream before. I think it's a little larger than a stream Cyril's preferred fishing area. I was informed that there are local fishing enthusiasts who are concerned that the Goosander population is affecting the trout population Well this was just the one group that I saw on my preambles. On the other hand. If there's a large population of Goosanders, there must be plenty trout to feed them
