I acquired a L. lesliei from ebay and as I could combine postage I bought this. The final bid was £2.70 and that's a 3" pot I've put it in. Those two heads are huge ( for a lithops) The roots are also quite big. Now labelled as Lithops hookerii

That third head, on the photo above, was looking a little bit wrinkly but it wasn't splitting open. I decided to take a better look and from the back, moving the label to the side, I could see the new head was starting to emerge from the side. I did a little assist and opened up that side at the top and look what I found. A nice new double header. I suppose it'll be another month or so before I can water this pot. We're so used to sloshing water on plants all the time it starts to feel like the Lithops are enjoying making me wait.

On my way back from Abbey Brook I called in on a Garden Centre at Tansley. This little lot I frittered away £7 on. I have repotted them of course

15 Lithops for 7 pounds makes pence sense... Fred, you're a frugal fritterer! dvg

Thanks for showing us the difference between the plants, once watered... It really shows with the bottom three plants squeezing in together for a group hug... ...their happiness, self evident in their smiles! dvg

A little noid that split to a double header. It looks a lot more attractive in real life.
