This is a seed grown “Super throat” X “Sky Watcher”. Four years old it could grow into a nice plant. A free meal for someone, I’m just not sure who yet. (I won’t let the bee get eaten) Cheers Steve

Well lasts nights first proper frost of the season has seen off the last of the annuals that were still producing colour, but you can rely on purpurea sand even the occasional anthocyanin free moorei to cheer you up. Cheers Steve

My first red tube of any sort to come out this year. It is a seeed grown plant from an open pollinated leucophylla x mitchelliana, seed sown 2018. I’ve never noticed this individual before so am curious to see what it does. The camera wouldn’t focus too well but I hope you get the idea. It is looking like a rubricorpora at the moment with the operculum being infused pink and red veined, so my guess is that it will go red in short order. What on earth the parent plant was crossed with to differ so far from its pod parent lineage, goodnesss only knows. I shall keep an eye on its siblings too . Cheers Steve

The outdoor Sarracenia are growing now, they are a good 4-6 weeks behind those whose are lucky enough to be able to greenhouse grow them, but that’s one of the problems you accept when you create outdoor bogs. This one is an already 1m high and that’s been outdoors for years so I’m sure in a greenhouse you could get a giant out of it. It is a 2012 seed grown ‘Brookes hybrid’ X areolata giant (Cedric Azais seed). It looks well when it’s open, I will update if I remember! and this is a a now seed grown NOID , I like it as it doesn’t need the sun to make it red it grows red, stays red and just gets darker. I will update if I remember. Cheers Steve

Flicking through the rejected pics I saw this, it’s a NOID, and I noticed the seed pod colour, so decided to include it. Cheers Seve

Here’s (yet) another seed grown hybrid with no label, growing in one of the bogs, the major part of its lineage is very apparent, but the rusty red splashes in the throat hint at some rugelii somewhere in its past Cheers Steve .

As the season marches relentlessly forwards towards its inevitable conclusion, the leucophylla and their hybrids are making the best of the situation and looking quite nice, despite, I fancy, it being a cooler season than the last few years. seed grown relatively juvenile (Alata x leucophylla red and gold) X (‘Leah Wilkerson’x ‘Bordeaux red tube’) Seed grown leucophylla X flava ornata Cheers Steve
