Partr of one of the Cyrtomium was used to make a bed by the fox. I've now cut back the broken frons and with the new growth evident, no significant damage occurred. The top photo on the 19th was of 'The King' 3 days later this is how it's grown. The others are keeping pace too.

This monster is from one one of those spores that arrive with the peat. It's slow to start every year but when it does it forgets to stop

This is a self set "sporeling". It was growing against the house wall in about a spoonful of soil. If it did that well there surely it'll enjoy the long tom it's in now.

The main part of the Fernery is filling in nicely with the new growth. Cool and shady on a hot day. THis is an extension to the part across the path. Much lighter here and of course it has one of corky's favourites Dryopteris erythrosora just beginning to open up its fronds

Down in the Fernery this morning there's a raised tub/bed with Podophyllum ‘Spotty Dotty’, Arum italicum subsp. italicum 'Marmoratum' and a scattering of wood Anemone. The foliage looks quite good together.
