I agree with Fred, the low temperatures to -10C don't cause too many problems for Sarracenia or for that matter Venus fly traps when they are not in active growth and that freeze and thaws are very deleterious. However, outside, the desiccating effect of wind, particularly in sub zero temps when the ground is frozen, does tend to remove the moisture from new growth including scapes, moisture which the plant cant replace and the new growth desiccates and generally dies. Your standard light overnight frosts unless unseasonably late in the season don't tend to do too much damage. Cheers steve
