Here is another update on these fine fellas... These are the sporelings from the pot, sown on June 19, of last year. And this is the pot that had some transplants added to it, in early November, of last year. They all seem to be playing well in the sandbox together. Some of these rhizomes have grown to be over 3" in length, now. dvg

Just repotted the remaining Dicksonia plants germinated last year, i have now 38 plants in 4” square pots, (I managed to loose some over winter) in a homemade rich compost, taking up more room than I can afford. The pots were second hand from an auction site, 100 for a tenner inc postage, so I was happy with that. The new fronds are now unfurled with more crosiers to follow, longest frond for this early season is 7”. If I can keep them out of direct sun for a day or two they should settle in and hopefully produce even longer fronds. The forest is growing. Cheers Steve

Here is how the original pot is doing with the remaining sporelings sown on Nov. 7, 2018. Some of them are growing skyward, others outward. They seem to be easy enough to grow out from spores. dvg

Have any ants taken up residence yet?

No, probably best not to encourage them, or they'll be marching to the kitchen, two by two.

When they were asked why they made such a long trip,They said "We've all come, for Fred's chocolate dip!"Now, Fred has found, that to get the best crunch, - Pure satisifaction...in every munch,Those ants must be crispy, and tossed a few flips,Before being drizzled, with chocolate drips...

Thanks Corky, growing them out proved to be a good experience for me, with the baggie method doing most of the heavy lifting.
How have your sporelings been behaving lately?
Cheers,
