Yes but the day (or year) is still young ,they have plenty of time to rot or desiccate, pessimistic maybe but when i celebrate too soon things inevitably go wrong

Well my seedlings didn't make it ,a couple started to come back last year but then disappeared , not all the larger plants grew last year and I'm not sure why , the two or three that did looked terrible, this year five are showing signs of life and I'm hoping number six will turn up and all will put on a decent show this season

I've ended up with eight of these ,much better than I expected as far as I knew I had six tubers at the start of the season and only three stuck their heads above the sand last year and grew badly, none look the strongest plants I've had in the past but they seem to be doing OK.
