Hello, how big is the flower My regular alpina in bloom now has flowers ranging in size from 1-1/4" to just over 1-1/2" in width, when they were measured today. The "Henry Pittier" clone's flowers had measured at 3" across previously, and with more flowers on the way now, i might even be able to capture a shot of both alpina clone's flowers open and side-by-side together. dvg

These "Henry Pittier" flowers at this stage of their development are wallflowers, to be sure. They do not stand out at all in a crowd, even these four flowers forming. (middle to lower left) But once opened, they do tend to get noticed. dvg
