A month on from the last pics in this thread and I have five fronds and two more on the way so far they aren't bigger than last year but I don't think the extra sun has done the plant any harm and if I end up with seven fronds I reckon it's not bad compared to previous years, I did have a few dead stubs of fronds removed at the start of the season which I presumed were killed due to not enough winter protection as the plant was covered in snow for a bit and no protection was given all winter note to self give some protection this winter

Still putting out new fronds ,that'll make nine this season if the two new fronds make it before the weather turns new growth has remained more upright this year and I had read that would happen in more sunlight,

Glad this plant survived the winter as I only have the one ,I took no risks and over wintered it in the porch as last year it had a terrible year and growth was small and deformed and I put this down to it not really being hardy I hope to be updating with some good news and a fuller pic as at the moment last years bad growth makes it not forum worthy ( and slightly depressing )

Promising start to the season for this fern , which is a good thing as it's a favourite of mine ( not particularly my plant more the pics online ) spent the colder months in a priority position in the porch hence the early start, a trunk is on the way and who knows I might live to see it a foot tall
