That is hot!
Do you grow your succulents in the top greenhouse?
With the glass out, what other cooling options do you utilize: ceiling vents, exhaust fans?

The Mesembs and Euphorbia are mainly in the bottom greenhouse Doug. There are some in the other two though. I would think the temp was about the same in them all. I wasn't that keen to go in and check though.
Glass out in the doors and a top vents open, a side vent also in the top one, is all the cooling I have apart from water evaporation from the lagoons.

The succulents are designed to conserve water through the hot/dry spells, but anything big and leafy will be thirstier in those conditions. And, the waterers needs to ensure that they are topped up and well watered as well. dvg

Cheers Steve Reckon it's a good thing that Sarracenia tolerate the heat so well. I wonder if that heat will affect the colouring on the pitchers, Steve. Cold temps bring out the reds and purples in some plants, but not sure how the hot temps affect colouring. If anything, the heat may help speed growth rates for your Sarrs. Cheers, Doug dvg

Hi Doug
Those that normally colour up later in the year are a lot earlier this year, especially the reds, for fairly obvious reasons. Cupreas are more intense than usual and the white leucophylla are white earlier too although I seem to have lost my bucket of albas over the winter. The heat has helped greatly as has the sun intensity, even if I don't function as well in the heat.
Cheers Steve
