Another hybrid addition to my Utric family here - U. campbelliana from Roraima Tepui, fathered by U. asplundii. This clone is easier to grow than its campbelliana mother, and because of its asplundii father, flowers more easily than the mother species as well. This clone has flowers of vivid reds and orange. dvg

After a couple weeks those three original leaf stolons were drained of any green and had gone to yellow. One was even broken off by accident, and placed on the surface, just in case it might propagate itself. Concerned that the RO water was a little light on nutrients, i began misting them with a light concentration of liquid fertilizer, once or more a week. After a week or two, new leaf stolons began to appear, and now seem to be popping up along the root-like stolons like mushrooms! Seems the RO water might have been a tad too light. This hybrid has been and is growing under lights as well as in a humidity dome, with both top vents cracked open. The daytime photo period is 14 hours, with in dome temperature highs of 25°c, dropping to 18°c or lower at night. dvg

A bit of an update on this clone in its 4" home. It is pushing up a fair number of new leaf stolons, even though most might not all be visible yet. And if we take a peek under the moss, root stolons with bladder traps are beginning to make their inner rounds, encircling the pot. dvg
