I found a 20l bag of rockwool cubes at a decent price on eBay so my first trial is with a Darlingtonia. I've used Rockwool/rehydrated dried sphagnum at about 3.1 and dressed with trimmed live sphagnum tops.

I tried something similar with Sarracenia in Rockwool cubes with no mix agent, some years back which wasn't very successful (survived two years), the Sphagnum mix sounds like it could be a winner with Darlingtonia. An interesting experiment Fred. Cheers Steve

The small rockwool cubes, mainly used in hydroculture. The rockwool/sphagnum trial and next to it a similar sized plant in standard media.
