I grow marigolds round and about the garden, as they are an easy, colourful, pleasant plant and fill 'holes' easily. Last year in autumn they did their usual thing and set seed, which got everywhere, some of which germinated in the late autumn. That in itself isn't unusual but normally the winter kills the greenery and the plants die. However this winter a few plants, in fairly exposed locations, without any protection, have gone through the winter and as you can see are now flowering in March! A welcome splotch of early colour. Cheers Steve
