Another protocarnivorous, paracarnivorous, subcarnivorous, borderline carnivorous or carnivorous plant for your delectation. This is Stylidium caespitosum. The medium I'm using is peat / granit grit in about a 1:1 mix and topping off with granite grit. The long tom pots I'm using stand in the water trays. It would appear that this plant does have long roots and it's not averse to having them sitting in water. ;D

How vigorous is this one about getting into other pots? Does it eventually carpet all? Yours looks to be on its very best behavior which makes me suspicious with those roots. grack

I received some from bonfield yesterday and like them. Their current flower stems are a bit beaten up by the trip so it will be good to have the fresh buds showing their nature.

I thought I should add a photo of the S. caespitosum foliage as it is at present. It's not quite the same greenness as above.

The flowers have gradually declined (eaten by slugs ) and the new leaves/crowns are starting to develop.

It really is a lovely plant Fred.
Next time you repot/accidentally knock over the pot/rescue it from the jaws of a mischievous fox... could I request a little offcut as I'd really like this species to accompany my S. debile.

I split a few pots a couple of months ago and they're doing well. All the rosettes have attempted to flower ( slugs relish the young buds.). What intrigues me now is where these D.capensis came from. I used fresh medium
