Forgive the untidy tray ,old dry pitchers need a good trimming, but a record twenty flowers, slugs felled a couple of stems before I had chance to get a pic

BCP usually has some Darlingtonia seed listed as coming from a hardy UK clone.
Not sure if that seed came from Fred or not, but last year a vendor from Belgium was selling the Fredg strain of Darlingtonia seeds, so I imagine that those initially began from material provided by Fred at some point in the past.
Best of luck with your seedlings Corky!

weird description, I was under the impression all darlingtonia were hardy for UK conditions , don't suppose they'd be hardy for you DVG with those crazy cold winter temps, I'll add a picture of the largest plant I've grown from seed so i can watch it hopefully grow over the next few months , record keeping isn't my strong point but either four or five years old from a selfed plant

Corky, the winters here can be cold, but our springs are nice.
Right now outside, it is a balmy -12°c, and if one can stay out of the wind, there is still some feeling left in the face.
And no, Darlingtonia are definitely not winter-hardy in these parts.
But hardiness can run to the opposite extreme as well, as in certain plant being heat-hardy.
And that's where the Fredg strain finds its strength - the Belgian vendor claimed that his Fredg strain of darlings endured a few days of 40+°c heatwave weather, without missing a beat.
Now Fred here may claim otherwise, but the Fredg strain of Darlingtonia is being promoted as a very heat-tolerant plant.
