I just dug up this tub/raised bed to replant with some 2 year old A. speciosum and the A. galeatum and A. speciosum tubers were still there and intact. I've now replanted these into a large pot and hope the shoots, there are plenty white shoots, start up and do a late growth spurt. I can only guess that the plastic dome I had over this bed kept it too dry even though I'd cut the top out.
* the plastic domes are to keep the beds a little drier in winter but mainly to keep the cat off
stevebooth: I don’t begrudge them the Sphagnum, it’s what is with it that I covet, plus they seem to totally remove the top layer and use the lower levels, I have hopefully rendered many of the pots more birdproof this afternoon.

dvg: So apparently the UK variant somehow commingled with the Indian variant to make a super love-child that's been named the Delta Strain...

stevebooth: The first new outside pitcher of the year has opened today, that’s some difference to the greenhouse plants. The flowers are looking nice though.
