Cleaning up the helis seems to have had a positive effect ,both now blooming well , h.minor has four flower spikes and h.pulchella has two you guys will probably forget this but i'll say it anyway ,i'm back collecting pollen and using my tuning fork

thought I'd make a video of collecting the pollen ,and that's a tuning fork don't ya know anthers were dried for a couple of days ,if you had some CSI type image enhancing software you'd be able to make out that I'm a dead ringer for Brad Pitt in the reflection don't reckon it turned out too bad as it was a bit tricky to film

apart from an out of focus pic what you are seeing here is success,i didn't record when seeds were sown in my truly unprofessional style so this is H.pulchella x H.minor, even if it all goes horribly wrong i got something right ,right?

Well done there Corky, a tip of the hat is in order. Were those pics of your seedlings, made through a successful crossing of your own plants? Watched your video of the tuning fork and its effect on the pollen's release...very informative. dvg

Yep they're the crossing of my own plants and the way heliamphora flowers work I am fairly certain these are H.pulchella x H.minor

Congrats! That's a few hurdles cleared with successful pollination, viable seeds collected, sown and germinated. Take a bow, good Sir! dvg

I've just found the label I wrote but didn't put in the pot , 1/3/21 so germination is two months later
