As you will have noticed I have started using the Attachment facility on forum. It's far easier than using an external photo-hosting site as the photos are uploaded directly from your computer. Once uploaded the thumbnail photos can be placed in your post automatically, in which case they will show under a heading ATTACHMENTS or they can be inserted as a thumbnail into the post where you specify with the cursor. In the second case there is no heading and text can be placed between the thumbnails. A simple click expands the thumbnail to the file size in a separate window.
The allowance is a maximum of three photos /post and a max 1Mb for each
The bonus is that the address of the opened file can be used to embed the photo in other fora. No editing, no confusion.

The above is useful and easy for the person who isn't too tech friendly but I confess that I use Google Photos now. I post there then open a link and use the app here to get the embed code to use on site. There's enough free storage space to keep me going for a good while

The free allowance for attachments has been exceeded. I've had to delete a couple so far to get back to the limit. The allowance can be increased by BUYING storage space but I don't think we want to do that. I currently use Google Photos and this site to convert to an embed code. Other free image hosting sites are available. On a quick scan of the attachments, some are far larger ( up to 900kb) than they need be. If you can edit some of yours it would help. The free storage we have is 200mb.

I have suspended the attachment function whilst I edit some of the photos.
