This Utricularia subulata flower has appeared in a Drosera pot. There are no leaves and it's a mystery as to how it got there. The only explanation I can come up with is it came on the bare roots of the Drosera. Then I ask why it's at the side of the pot and not in amongst the plants.

Now it's migrated to a D. intermedia ( green) pot I wonder where it will go to next year No root transfer on this one. The Drosera are from seed in that pot.

Fred, as long as it does not migrate into my collection, i can fully appreciate its bright and beautiful bloom. Those last two photos might be the best ive seen with this species. Yellow is very difficult to photograph well, but you were able to bring out the "eye-spots" on this one very well, reminding me of U. nephrophylla eyes. And I didn't even know subulata had eyes... dvg
