I've posted this elsewhere so I may as well park it here too This is a small detachment of British Rocket Troops in 1/72. Wellington wasn't too keen on these new fangled weapons . They had a bit of a reputation of not going exactly where they were meant to. On the retreat (repositioning) from Quatre Bras to Waterloo a French cannon was brought forward to harass the British rear. The Rocket troop scored a direct hit with the first rocket, destroying the gun and crew. The second rocket chased their own mounted officer up the road. :tmi: The Rocket troops at the Battle of Waterloo were reissued with 6 pounder cannon. (There are some claims that there were a few rockets used in the battle). At Leipzig, 2 years earlier, O Battery ( The Rocket troop) Royal Horse Artillery were the only British troops deployed, they were there to test the weapons in action and attached to the Swedish Army. The little known story here makes very interesting reading. They were very effective indeed.
