This is, as far as I know, a typical form, that was taken out of one of my bogs along with about 40 others, but I put this one in a long tom and put it in the greenhouse just to see how much better greenhouse growing is for VFTs. The answer is, as you might have expected, much better. Cheers Steve

This years flowers from this plant - more seeds to come for next year and my newly found enthusiasm for growing Dionaea from seed.

The outdoor fly traps are n full flower, I must not collect the seeds and grow them, there just isn’t the space.

This is a plant that I have propagated because of the stubby cilla. It doesn’t stop it catching various prey though. The pictures below are various typicals grown in buckets outside, from seed. As you can see there is quite some variation. cheers steve

Finally the VFTs outdoors are catching up, here’s a bucketful from this morning with plenty of flowers to come. I have deliberately split thes plants and kept them separate because of the stunted cilla, with the ambition of across breeding them with something interesting, when I find it. Cheers Steve

The traps in the bogs outside were slow to take off this year but have made a reasonable show. Cheers Steve

I was sat by one of my buckets seed grown fly traps, which are only now developing their 'summer' leaves, and just had a look at the assembled plants and the diversity in there. There were ones with pink cilla, dentate cilla and everything in between. The flowers will be out soon too which promises to be a good show I think. Cheers Steve
