Took this one outside today to show the centre of the rosette that is readying itself for dormancy and a fly landed on a leaf just before the shot was taken.  The fly then proceeded to drag itself across the leaf, gathering mucilage as its rear legs dragged behind it.  Checked on the fly later, but it was too late for it...it didn't make its way to freedom. dvg |
