Today's crop of new flowers. C. taylorianum v. ernianumA first flowering of C. longum v. longitubum which apparently is the same as a standard C. longum except the locale it is found in. The flower should look much better tomorrow as it emerges further from the body. Finally another photo of the more pink C. longum with more flowers open.

C. verrucosum with the flower still very close to the body. C. truncatum showing its night blooming flower. Photo taken using a head torch. I forgot to check the scent. At least there's a few more buds to do that with.

A recent arrival ( the nibble on the body wasn't mine) now showing off a bit. Conophytum ectypum ssp. browniiApparently a yellow flower on these increases the rarity.

Flowering continues. The consensus appears to be that Conophytum are much more difficult than Lithops. Not here they're not

I recently acquired 6 seedlings of Conophytum verrucosum on ebay for the sum of £2.50 + postage . I noticed that the vendor has been selling plants as C. verrucosum stufule and these also have STUFULE on the back of the label along with the collection reference EH980. A google search reveals that the seed was collected by Emile Heunis near Stofvlei RSA.As I had to dampen the medium to get them dibbled into the pots I've added them to the Euphorbia light box.
