I may have been a little quiet of late. This may explain it. The horses are grey even if the photo shows some as white. There's no chance of any mottling showing on the photo either. Now I have to impale the troopers

That's quite the showing there Fred. Was going to ask you in the shout box today how the model painting was going, but now it's clear what you've been up to. Thought maybe you weren't feeling it this year, but that obviously wasn't the case either. Thanks again, for sharing. dvg

Nice work there Fred!
You've done a very nice job on the fine details with these.

Saddle sores be Damned! The men are all feeling a sense of relief to be back in their saddles again, after being relieved from their prior postings. Well done there Fred. dvg

Good to see the men have loosened up and are moving freely again, Fred. You should have no problems getting the grasses to grow high now. dvg

Fred, if you were to put a few of the steeds on a sheet of white computer printing paper, or even on the white styrofoam, do you think that the contrast might bring the greys out better?
It seemed to work quite well for the men, but it looks like their trousers are a darker shade of grey than that of the horses.

Fred, are you planning to do any more modelling now that the active growing season is ending? I miss the history lessons that complement the new posts in your modelling threads. dvg
