This is a crossing that fellow Canadian, Cole Bonfield recently made. He sent me a few of these seed grown hybrids to grow out, and here they are recovering from the shipping stresses. Cole showed me a flower pic from one of the clones and it looked very similar to the flowers of Pinguicula 'ANPA A'. dvg

Another update from a later date, still on the same but now darkening paper towel. And a more recent pic of them. I tried to move one of them, but they're pretty well dug into their substrate now. dvg

These seed grown clones have been growing under a 7" dome over a 1020 tray for the last few months, and though the leaf coloring has faded to a great extent, there is still some evidence it could again be revived by the dome's removal. dvg

A quick shot update for one of these clones. Have four unique seed grown clones of this cross, but still waiting on flowers from them. dvg

Hi Corky, these clones are sharing the same pot and are still happy.
They do seem to be very easy growing, so hopefully the crossing parents provided the right chemistry coming together for something special in these offspring's flowers.
Cheers,

Haha, 'tis the season for red lit noses and reindeer Yeah, that was a nice one, but unfortunately it perished along with a few other plants when i moved. The plants were in domes under lights and some were not as drought resistant as they needed to be between waterings. I do tend to keep the drought resistant ones around. If it has a tuber or a bulb, it has a good fighting chance here. dvg

Well I can safely say I'm far more adept at killing plants, drought resistance is no barrier for my abilities

The green rosette is the first clone here to flower. This unopened flower looks to have captured the color traits of one parent, the agnata mother. But this clone looks more like it was fathered by an ANPA A rather than the actual ANPA C father, at this point. ANPA A flower below (from cpphotofinder.com ) farm2.staticflickr.com/1790/43219290932_6cb913682b_b.jpgP. agnata flower below (a flower example of what one might expect) The white band between the purple coloring at each end of the unfurled flower petal is promising. But will have to see what rolls out here to know for sure, and who knows, maybe more ANPA C traits will show up in the fully opened flower. dvg
