This subject is taking up quite a bit of space on the forum but less so in the greenhouses really. It's amazing how one can spend so much time and have so much fun in a small space. Here's the majority of the present collection ( not all though )

Haha! Good show Fred! I think i finally grasped the concept of "Good things come in small packages". It's true that one can have a lot of fun with plants in small spaces, if one chooses the right plants. dvg

With the warmer weather, I've been giving some of the Mesembs a little water. Some Conophytum were getting a little wrinkly ( winter growers) so they've perked up nicely. No water for the Lithops for some time yet. I'm pleasantly surprised how hardy these little fellows are. I was unsure how the Conophytum would react to an unheated Midlands winter but they're coping fine.
I'm gradually finding out the plants which will tolerate my conditions and the number that do is gratifying.
The only major losses this winter were to the mice which are no longer with us.
I still have quite a number of seedlings to sort out

It's encouraging to hear how hardy most have turned out to be. Just curious how cold your winter months were compared with winters past - milder this winter just passing? Fred what was the coldest temperature that you recorded in your greenhouses this winter? What was your coldest outdoor morning low temperature that you can recall for these last few months? It seems to me that you had a fairly mild winter, but just thought i'd ask for another opinion from those that actually lived through it personally. dvg

The coldest was in the Mesemb greenhouse @ -3C so it was quite mild.

The tub of Drosophyllum finally gave up the ghost this winter. The space this created didn't last too long.

-1C in the greenhouse and dull ( foggy) doesn't really help the flowers look their best.

Several plants were still trying to flower over the cold spell. These little fellows are quite tough.

The mature Lithops were watered for the first time today. I also splashed some on the Conos.
This is the first year I haven't sat in the greenhouses and removed all the old leaves before some of them were completely dry. We'll see how they progress. I have some new seedlings and there's an interloper. I'll post a photo in a different section of that. No idea how it got there.
