Mexi-ping flower stalk propagation

Flower stalk propagation is known to occur with both sundew and VFT flowerstalks.

However, have any of you had any luck with getting the flower stalks of any mexi-pings to strike for you?

In the past, i had cut off their flower stalks, but without any success in getting any strikes to occur.

But it is possible, i saw it with my own eyes tonight.

The strike came from the very base of the flower stalk, where it connects to the rosette.

And that is likely why i have had no success in the past with my mexi-ping flower stalk propagation efforts -- I had cut the stalks, rather than leaving them still attached.

This event was accidental in nature, with a bit of neglect thrown in for good measure.

Cole Bonfield had sent me a vigorous hybrid that he had created, and shipped it to me with its roots wrapped securely in paper towel.

Well, i didn't get around to potting it up right away, and it stayed in its paper wrapper, with the humidifier wafting humid air all around it.

When I finally got around to potting it up tonight, I was surprised to notice that an old flower stalk, with only about 1-1/4" left of it, has struck from its very base.

The flower stalk may have been slightly dislodged from the rosette during shipping, and the moisture in the paper towel may have helped as well.

Of course, leaf pulls are the preferred method of  propagating these types of plants, but if  any of you have had success with getting strikes from mexi-ping flower stalks, please feel free to share your success stories too.
