Have you ever wondered which carnivorous plant genus was the quickest to set its trap in motion to capture prey? How would a venus flytrap measure up? Would underwater traps even be able to compete, with the odds seemingly stacked against them with having to overcome the extra viscosity of water? Then the results might be surprising. Found this video of four CP genera, comprised of two terrestrial CPs and two aquatic CPs being tested for their trap closure speed, in slow motion capture down to thousands of a second or milliseconds.
