Had this plant for a fair few years and it never did very well in a pot for me ,start of last year it was looking on its last legs so I split up the unhappy plant and planted the dismembered bits into a sphagnum try. It's done great I reckon, is this plant now s.rosea ? and a doomed earwig

It's looking happy now Corky.
Do its pitchers redden up much with the onset of longer nights accompanied by the cooler temps?

think the short answer would be "no" , it's in a shadier position at the moment but I would of thought temps rather than sunlight would cause pitchers to darken this time of year?

Looks snug as a bug in a rug with its Sphagnum blankie. Did it get much direct sun over summer? mine get red with the anthocyanin caused by the sun then intensify in the cooler temps. Cheers steve

It got sun but not all day long ,maybe I need to try and find a better sunnier position next year and see if it makes a difference ,it certainly grew well enough just lacks the colours I too would of liked to see

It looks like it has the capability to get a lot redder, you're gonna have to displace one of your prize specimens to give it a sunnier position to see its full potential, although you will probably feel cheated till July/August time.
Cheers Steve
