The newly acquired female E. obesa. My winning bid was a whole £2.24 She's much larger than the pre-existing male.

You won her at a fair price and just in time too as her coming flowers can be fertilized with some saved pollen. Are you interested in helping your newly acquired female with making seed? She is a beaut! dvg

I'll give her a tickle when she's ready Doug That might give it a prettier look The way it's starting to romp, it'll look less pretty to begin with Chris

The obesa x globosa rooted cuttings are progressing nicely. Those offshoots are certainly growing. The E. flanaganii I wanted to get as a single plant so I've removed the offshoots. None of them was rooted. The singleton now looks like this. The roots did not bleed which I found odd, as the slighted damage to a branch and it bleeds copious amounts of latex. I trimmed off the cut parts of the offshoots and they'll be potted up in a few days when the wounds have calloused. Meanwhile they look like odd parsnips.

Not sure if i've asked you this before Fred, but have you had any close calls/near misses or actual skin exposure to any of the more nasty Euphorbia saps?
Euphorbia latex has a reputation for being a skin irritant, with some saps causing skin blistering, so just curious if you've had any accidental encounters with any of the more caustic latexes.

Do you fertilise any of these plants ? Not as yet Corky. Potting mixture is now JI3 and molar clay ( Tesco dust free cat litter / pink pack) Not sure if i've asked you this before Fred, but have you had any close calls/near misses or actual skin exposure to any of the more nasty Euphorbia saps? The E. flanaganii side shoots were potted up this morning. Now all they have to do is root I did have a couple of singe arms but with this seven plants already I couldn't see the point potting them up.

A couple of new arrivals that should please corky. They're not that big (yet). The original rooted cutting that fell off the mother plant whilst unpacking is now forming its central head.

The mother plant of E. flanaganii is showing promise of an excellent floral display.

Continued fast growth on the main stem of E. ingens. Two new arms are now developing. The E. flanaganii is progressing with the promised flower display. The red parts aren't petals they're bracts, the buds are still closed. This is a flower of E. loricata. This is also a flower on the same plant. Duh!
