I got round to it. E. triangularis. E. trigona - lousy photo but shows the patterning nicely.

The E. triangularis had a branch at an odd angle that didn't look right so I have another large cutting The plant looks balanced now and the spider's built a nice sheet web in there.

In the short time I've had it, E. triangularis has grown an inch on the mainstem and the branches. It's also starting to produce another set of branches. The spiders do seem to be very happy with their new accommodation.

E. triangularis does appear to be enjoying itself. I count 8 new arms. Six on the mainstem and 2 on one of the branches. In the meantime this E. clandestina has sneaked in They're normally £40-60 but I got this with a bid of £8.50 so I'm happy with that.

This new form of E mammilaris variegata is looking good. Compare it to the photo from May and I think you'll agree it is happy. I acquired this E. aggregata variegata a couple of months ago. I'm not too sure the variegation is natural. It looks like a virus may have been injected to get the "variegated" look. I've seen that technique demonstrated.

The mother E. trigona ( green) I acquired in July is now showing growth on all four arms. The two cuttings did give some cause for concern as they both started to blacken at the tip. I was thinking that I may have to cut off the tips and resolve myself to them just forming new arms instead of growing the main stem. I resisted and now the new leaves are coming through the tips and I look forward to the black markings disappearing.

Spotted in a Lidl in Scotland last week, E. trigona rubra for the princely sum of £2.45. I repotted the plant(s) when I returned home and this is what I got for my money. And I still have a spare tin bucket plant holder
