I have expanded my tuberous drosera collection and have three more species to try out this season , first to show above ground is a new one to me ,Drosera macrantha (rock outcrop form) . I have sneaked a look and all the pots had shoots below ground a couple of weeks back so hopefully they'll continue to grow , i have stored the pots in large ziplock bags for a couple of reasons ,first was to stop from drying out completely ,they were fairly dry but i wanted to keep a small amount of moisture in the soil as some tubers were fairly small and i can imagine they'd desiccate , and secondly to stop any slugs or the like hiding out also to make double sure an electric slug barrier has been installed (thanks to Fred for that idea) without a multimeter to test the circuit i resorted to bridging the tape with my tongue genius they're tiny and very thin at this stage

You may want to move that pot a little further away from the tray rim, corky, or use a shallower tray.
You could always electrify the tray rim as well though.

taking their time growing but eventually all six tubers have sprouted, I seem to have to water from above this year with the two species that have sprouted, didn't do that last year. The plants seemed to stall and then start growing again after top watering, of course this could be all in my mind

An update on this species , I've read that this "rock outcrop form" is a small more delicate form of the species and mine seems to be or of course it could be my bad growing, either way some are doing alright and a couple seem slow off the blocks but that's life eh, and on closer inspection

Just noticed the plants in this pot have broken dormancy , very early and some are a few inches tall already, they were kept indoors and I was planning on putting the tuberous drosera outside in October to get the cooler temperatures, because they're more advanced than I expected I've placed the pot to the side of the lights so they don't fry in the extra light as they've grown in a shady position

All ten tubers have sprouted and growing well enough, I was a bit worried our little heat spell might melt em but it doesn't seem to of bothered them and the weather is cooling down tallest are six inch high at a guess,I'll need to sort out a climbing frame for the little lads

An update is in order for this pot, it's doing well enough for me also strangely another plant has sprouted, I didn't think tubers would multiply whilst actively growing? So now I count eleven and a stranger looking root or stolen? Has appeared sticking out the top ,pretty sure it's somehow attached to the sundews all I need now is some flowers

The strange looking root type thingy above developed into a plant ,had one pop out the bottom of the pot aswell, and a flower had a fair few flowers but most didn't fully develop, not open completely but I do have a day job, was surprised how large it is as I was expecting tiny flowers for some reason, reckon it'd be over an inch when properly open, just zoom in and check out the structures, lovely stuff

That flower's interior is interesting Corky. Haven't ever attempting to grow any of the tuberous dews, that is something that i've not seen before. dvg

Noticed a couple of these were breaking the surface, gave the pot a spray of water to hopefully wake the others
