This Commiphora wightii was started from seed a number of years back and now stands alone in a 5" pot as it was the only seed from its batch to sprout. These trees, in nature, are tapped for their sap which is then dried into a resin ( guggul) and the fragrant and aromatic guggul is used as an ingredient in perfume making as well as for its medicinal qualities in Ayurvedic medicine. This species is both drought resistant and tolerant of poor soils. This shrubby tree is an ideal bonsai candidate and it also has some interesting plant features such as: serrated leaves, and peeling bark... dvg
