An early flowering perennial Sweet Pea that we've had for some years. This one is self set. It's not a climber and only gets to about 15" high.

Very unusual Fred, I’ve never heard of one that falls into those catagories

Those are interesting Fred, don't recall seeing those before, do you have a botanical name for them?
How do the flowers compare scentwise to regular commercially available sweet peas?
And when the bumblebees and honey bees are around, have you noticed if they land on the corolla opening and crawl right inside those flowers?

I've been having a look around so I now think this is Lathyrus vernus . This one being Lathyrus vernus albo roseus. There are a few colour forms around, we used to have an orange one too. Doug, it would take a tiny bee to get fully inside the flowers
