Taken June 25th 2015. Excellent leaf growth and now flowering after leaving the pots in the cold greenhouse all winter.

The soon to be dormant Utricularia reniformis plants. There's only the five No7 pots. It's quite enough though.

Looking very happy Fred, I got hold of a small pot of them after reading your posts on how hardy they are. I am planning to give them a pretty dry and cold winter rest. They only grew a couple of small leaves in the few months I had them so I hope they pick up after a rest in the spring, how much sun are yours in , cheers Chris

An update on this species. A little cold and a few short days and they don't look quite so verdant.

My small pot of U . reniformis has no top growth left at all , I've kept it fairly dry ( damp) I gently tipped it out its pot as the contents seemed to be holding together and all looks well . It's seen freezing conditions and I look forward to seeing what happens in spring , do you think I should stand in water when threat of frosts are over.

Barry Rice classes it as an 'emergent terrestrial' so yes.

Hi Fred , I should of asked if you wait until you see new growth before you stand in water or start standing in water when you think temperature is high enough , cheers

The plants are cleaned up and ready to go. I took the opportunity to grab some photos of the traps while I had them out.

I have a leaf formed and one on the way on mine , but I moved the pot inside about a fortnight ago and placed on a southerly windowsill . That's a great start as I only had two leaves on it last year

Leaf production continues apace. The two inflorescences are quite tall now.( top right and bottom left are the stalks)

I was rechecking the auto-focusing on one of my cameras using the two U. reniformis inflorescences and the results came out so well I just had to publish. (My exccuse and I'm sticking to it) It'll not be long before they burst forth ( they always just miss out on the medals, unfair )
