This was one of those unwanted Christmas presents , recently I've started to appreciate it , how fickle of me, pretty sure its a common Mammillaria but the label says " cactus , don't over water" and that's it . I haven't watered it at all, thriving on neglect

This little cactus has managed to survive been evicted from its pot at least three times in the last few months by a very naughty puppy,

Well he hasn't done it again for a while, he's a pretty tough little lad flipped back ears and demonic eyeshine aren't a permanent feature

The eyes we can sort. The ears are completely different. He looks like he requires regular watering and feeding.

What kind of pooch is that Corky.
Kinda hard to tell from the photo, but maybe some black lab or pit bull (straffordshire terrier) in the mix there?

He's a patterdale terrier, I guy had bought him for his young daughter without realising how much hard work was involved, so I managed to intercept him on the way to the dogs home after getting the heads up off a friend, I suspect his daughter was expecting a pug, she's probably got her heart set on a unicorn by now. Better pic of him , anti stab jacket, bit ruff round here:)

He's a good looking dog Corky; what did you name him?
You might have to start him his own thread here and watch him steal the show.
So when you were buying him his puppy supplies, did you bring a checklist along with you?
□puppy chow
□food bowl
□water dish
□grooming brush
□collar
□leash
□anti-stab jacket...like What The Ph... Corky!
What could possibly stab him out there in the woods?
Evil elves and garden gnomes gone rogue?
All joking aside, he's a cutie...best of luck with him and his training.

I named him "Buddy " as "Friend" sounded desperate but he's getting called all sorts at the moment, I need all the luck I can get training him

Terriers are a busy breed, but you know the drill...
...positive reinforcement, consistency, love and patience...lots of patience.

decided with the extra time i suddenly seem to have on my hands i would try a little dog training ,so far trained him to move in slow motion , tomorrow ill try and teach him to catch. This thread seems to be as much the dogs thread as the cacti, cacti is starting to form buds but not many by the looks of things

He's such a beautiful dog, with just so much energy. He put everything he had into that jump and really ended up launching himself quite well. Probably wise on your part playing catch with him outside, rather than anywhere near the fine china cabinet, indoors. Though it would be entertaining to see him chasing down a tossed ball bouncing down the aisle of a fine china shop, with him wearing his anti-stab vest for protection of course, from all of the commotion he is about to cause. Thanks for showing him again Corky, i've always got time for some pics or vids of Sir Buddy. dvg
