Wanted to share another new arrival with you, U. alpina x campbelliana. This little beauty flowers readily year round, on a 16/8 photoperiod under grow lights, according to the seller. Looking forward to seeing how this one performs over the summer here. dvg

A new flower opens in front of the mellowed but still vibrant bloom that arrived before it. dvg

Whenever i shoot a bunch of photos, and upload them to my phone, Google Photos makes these gifs and sends them to me. Most of the time, i find them annoying, but decided to share this gif, as it was windy the day I took these shots. dvg

The flowers on this clone lasted a good long while. Last week the final flower faded and i clipped the flower stalk off and then placed it in the same pot, in hopes of propagating more of this clone. Last night i had a closer look for new leaf stolons emerging, and didn't find any, but did spy a new flower stalk poking up instead. Had actually expected to see more leaf stolens popping up, but certainly won't complain about getting more flowers from this one, in the bargain. dvg

There is a nice changing of color that occurs with this hybrid's blooms. These flowers start out a darker red before briefly fading to pink. Then the coloring changes to an orange hued phase, that they slowly mellow into for the two month duration of these flowers. dvg

A few more pics to hopefully capture some of the color changes that occur as these flowers mature. First a shot from above. dvg

A couple more pics from today, made more challenging, by a blustery wind that bounced the flowers about. dvg

The first flower fully opened over five weeks ago and should have a few more weeks left before it eventually fades away and perishes. The wind was whipping them around today; it got them flying around like an old witch on a new broomstick. dvg
